A recognized expert on supply chain and technology issues, Tim Minahan has
appeared on CNN and ABC News as well as in several business publications. In
2003, he was named one of '50 Pros to Know' in the supply chain management
sector by "iSource" magazine - for the second time in as many years.
Tim Minahan is Vice President of supply chain management research for Aberdeen
Group, Inc., a Boston-based market research and positioning services firm. In
this role, Minahan provides analysis and assessment of software and services
that automate and streamline procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management
operations. Minahan specifically focuses on Total Cost Management (TCM), which
is an organizational and technological framework for managing the total cost of
ownership of supply relationships. Within TCM, Minahan tracks spending
analysis, sourcing, procurement execution, contract management, asset
management, and supplier performance measurement technologies. Minahan
continually consults with early implementers of these applications to identify
world-class supply management strategies and to determine the strengths and
weaknesses of technology solutions and services that are competing in the
supply chain software market. Minahan was also named one of the SCM sector's
most influential analysts by Supply Chain Technology News. Minahan has
published research reports on Best Practices in e-procurement, e-sourcing, and
Logistics Resource Management (LRM). His most recent reports benchmark spending
analysis and supplier performance measurement practices. His current research
efforts include managing Aberdeen Group's e-Sourcing Index (ESI), which
benchmarks sourcing technology usage trends, strategies, and results on a
quarterly basis; benchmarking supply-side contract management practices; and
examining the use of procurement and supply chain technologies within the
public sector. Minahan joined Aberdeen after nearly a decade of researching,
reporting, and advising on procurement, supply chain management (SCM),
e-Commerce, EDI, computer policy, and technology issues. He previously served
as senior editor of "SCM for Purchasing" magazine, an editor for "Electronics
Purchasing," and a technology reporter for "Government Computer News." Minahan
has a BA from Boston College. Minahan also served on the editorial advisory
board for "Supply Strategy" magazine.
